Senior Behavioral Designer - Full-time Contract (3-months, Hybrid - Toronto, ON)

Overview
Join us as a Senior Behavioral Designer, where you'll bridge design, behavioral science, and experimentation to craft interventions that resonate. As part strategist and part creator, you'll shape ideas on the fly, partner with scientists, and deliver polished visuals that make behavioral insights tangible for clients. This role thrives in our multidisciplinary setting, perfect for designers passionate about influencing how people think and act.
This is a hybrid role based in Toronto with two days per week in office. This will start as a three-month full-time contract with opportunity for extension.
Your Day-to-Day
While every day may look different, your main responsibilities will be to:
Lead behavior-change designs across sectors like finance, health, sustainability, and government.
Build client-facing concepts, prototypes, and deliverables from behavioural insights on time and with precision.
Contribute to ideation sessions, exploring hypotheses and refining directions.
Co-lead client meetings, guiding design discussions and explaining your rationale.
Partner with scientists, strategists, and clients to test ideas, iterate, and simplify complex research into visuals like client presentations, scientific reports, digital campaigns, marketing content and communication documents.
Enhance proposals with compelling design input to win new business.
Develop BEworks-branded assets to strengthen our visual identity.
Meet all deadlines while upholding craft excellence, organizing workflows, and mentoring junior designers to advance our practice.
What We Are Looking For
What You Bring:
5 to 7+ years in UX, instructional, visual/graphic, marketing, or service design, ideally in agencies, marketing teams, or product environments.
A portfolio highlighting conceptual depth, problem-solving, UX flows, and storytelling across formats (decks, digital, interventions).
Experience with hypothesis-driven design, pilots, and iteration in dynamic settings.
Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Keynote/PowerPoint, plus prototyping tools.
Strong collaboration and communication, including client presentations and feedback handling.
An evidence-based mindset, curiosity about human behavior, and skill in turning data into intuitive designs.
Nice to Haves:
Background in consulting, agencies, or research-focused roles.
Knowledge of frameworks like COM-B, EAST, or MINDSPACE.
Workshop facilitation skills.
